For as long as I can remember the Bondi Tratt has been a bit of an institution in Bondi. Long before the days of the super trendy restaurants arrived and Bondi was still a sleepy kinda hippy beach suburb, there stood the tratt. And for that long it’s been serving up some seriously sumptuous Italian meals.

I’ll be honest I’d only ever attended tratt by lunch or by night, but for my little man’s birthday this year, he voted brekky out followed by a surf and the tratt was ready and waiting for us. Spoilt we were by a robustly flavoured breakfast of spiced Shakshuka with tomato, feta and flat bread – the hash browns on the sides were a birthday treat (boys not mine!) and Zucchini, pumpkin, ricotta fritters, baba ganoush, charred corn, poached egg. All in all a delicious first time breakfast experience at the tratt and without a doubt made for a return visit very soon.

Bondi Trattoria (The Tratt)  is open Weekdays 11 am – late | Weekends & Public Holidays 8 am to late. 34 Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach, NSW 2026
