Surviving the party season with a packed lunch

Your (health) hack for the party season, nights out and days feeling a little low on energy solved by a packed lunch. Yep that’s it! If ever there was a time to do just one simple element of meal prep for a week then this is it. Don’t worry about brekky and dinner prep, just get a healthy lunch prep done and that way you’re not thinking about it come lunch time. You can always grab yoghurt, muesli, fruit and nut mix from the supermarket or little corner store for brekky at the office. Lunch is where so many people fall down hill so prep some of these ingredients have them in the fridge in airtight containers and throw them together in 5 minutes for work the next day.

Prepped lunch items for flavour and nutrition:

+ grated carrot

+ blanched beans or asparagus

+ defrosted peas

+ washed tomatoes

+ steamed broccoli

+ baked cauliflower or ANY vegetables

+ pesto or fresh herbs + any spice mix like dukkah you love

+ selection of dressings – tahini in yoghurt / maple dijon evoo lemon  / balsamic olive oil garlic

+ grated cheese

+ fresh greens like rocket, baby spinach or chopped cabbage

+ olives

+ avocado straight up

+ hummus or your fave dips

+ sliced cucumber or zucchini

+ tinned bean mixes

+ tinned tuna, salmon or sardines, no need to turn your nose up at sardine, they’re actually some of the least smelly and so nutritious – great for a DHA (think brain and cognitive function) hit!
