1 day ago by brownpapernutrition Did I eat lots of chocolate and cheese on the weekend? YES. Am I worried about it? NO. Indulgence is healthy and you don't need to be highly restrictive with your food intake or over exercising this week to compensate for the Easter weekend. Just get back to the foundations of a healthy diet - stacks of vegetables, some good quality protein and a nugget of healthy fats to balance your meals. I personally crave the simple things after a yummy weekend of eating with family so this plate of steamed veggies with a basic home made satay (recipe below)

8 hours ago by brownpapernutrition Actually my new favourite breakfast, lunch, dinner? Best combination of sweet, savoury, crunchy and little bit creamy…. Sourdough bread (delish toasted with some olive oil too if you have the time) with scrumptious  @rubyriseredpapaya  slices, feta, mint and a homemade Pinenut and Sunflower Seed Dukkah. We became completely obsessed by papaya when travelling recently, such a nutritious fruit rich in enzymes that support healthy digestion. Can’t get enough of it now - yummmmm. I’ll pop the recipe for you below my friends - love Jacq RUBY RISE RED PAPAYA, FETA AND DUKKAH TOASTS Serves 1 1/2 Ruby Rise Red Papaya,
  • Did you know exercise supports GIT gastro intestinal health from
4 days ago by brownpapernutrition Did you know… exercise supports GIT (gastro intestinal) health from gut motility to even increasing the diversity of gut micro flora? (Monda, Villano et al 2017) That’s just a start too... There have been a number of recent studies showing the impact exercise has on our gut microbiome. Exercise has such incredible benefits for our mental and cardiovascular health, skin and obviously to support and strengthen our musculo skeletal system too. For me... exercise reduces any stress and anxiety, keeps things moving, shaking and strengthening within, increases my productivity with work, challenges me so that I can overcome other obstacles

5 ingredient spiced cauliflower and pumpkin

If you have a few simple ingredients on hand you CAN make a nourishing meal. No excuses. I generally have pumpkin and cauliflower in my fridge and because I don't want to eat it the same way all the time I throw in spices and a couple of other ingredients (kale and walnuts here) and...

PEACH ASPARAGUS AND MINT SALAD

Obsession with summer stone fruits means they're really receiving a stack of air time in our recipes at the moment! Salads are such a lovely way to enjoy stone fruits and really up the impressive factor in a meal with zero fuss at all. One of my favourites is with asparagus in a salad because the contrast of...

PLANT BASED CAULIFLOWER LARB

Is cauliflower the vegetable that just keeps on giving? As it seems - Y.E.S. From its humble beginnings in the 80's with that weird white sauce and parsley to where it stands today it sure has come a loooooong way in its time would you agree? We use it in our recipes for all the...

WARM MUSHROOM PINE NUT BABY SPINACH SALAD

This is one of my favourite recipes from my book, Seasons to Share which heroes our Vitamin D rich Mushroom. It's hearty and brings all the right flavours together. It's one of the those salads that actually gets better with age - which sounds awful, but all I mean by that is that it's great...

CARROT SPICE PORRIDGE

With the winter soon upon us, breakfast calls for more warming foods, and a Carrot Spice Porridge will tick the boxes to do it. With spices such as cinnamon to level blood sugars throughout the day,  ginger to gently warm the body and improve circulation, with gentle flavours of almond milk and a good dose of...

SPICED PUMPKIN CAULIFLOWER AND DUKKAH

Curry spice is underrated. Massively. Maybe it's because it was overused in the 70-80s hit favourite - curried eggs, or maybe it's simply because we don't know when or how to use it. Hopefully this will change things for you. Curry spice sprinkled over pumpkin in this recipe is the simplest way to up the...
