Our weekender in Berry, New South Wales – a homestead for big groups

In need of a circuit break from the COVID travel restrictions internationally and a bit of fun with our small peeps we booked a beautiful big homestead in Berry for a few days. Berry is on the New South Wales south coast and approximately 2 hours south of Sydney so it’s very easy as a weekend trip and not too tiresome to be travelling with kids either.

The weekend was wet, wet, wet, in fact it was the weekend that properties further south flooded and so whilst we we cooped up inside the homestead for the entire time we were there at no point did we ever (we – 16 people including 8 kids) ever feel on top of each other. There was PLENTY of room and an amazing wing of the house and barn the kids could dominate.

Excuse the following images of the property they really don’t do it justice and I was without my big camera in an effort to do less. It truly was a switch off weekend without much to think about except of course what to eat / feed kids next, who would win the ping pong tournament in the barn and when the hell was the rain going to stop – it didn’t, but we made the most of the indoors and outdoors of the property all the same.

I’ll put a link at the end of the (unflattering) photos, but honestly this property was absolutely fantastic for a big group of families with kids. The bunk room slept 12 kids as it was I believe (4 bunks but with each having a queen base) and the barn had space and equipment / toys downstairs for littler monkeys whilst upstairs housed the ping pong table, XBOX, board games etc etc and whilst it was pouring outside, should it have been sunny there was a ropes course, play ground, trampoline, pool and a lush green property for plenty of outdoor games with the kangaroos watching (truth! the same family came to say hello each day as the rain eased slightly).

A friend with us on the weekend booked it for a weekend retreat with some girlfriends and a yoga instructor recently and said it was (naturally even more – read no kids screaming around the house haha) unreal for this too – of course!

Find rates and avails via this link YOUR ULTIMATE BERRY ESCAPE.

+This is not a paid / sponsored post, sharing because everyone needs a break especially during these times and the south coast was so impacted by the bush fires early in 2020 too so whatever and however we can support each other is best.
