Toddler nutrition and a sample day on a plate with Elke
Starting to make habit of sharing Elke’s day on a plate on Instagram stories and here on the blog. A weekly sample because I’m not fast or organised enough to do it all in a day.
What I also want to say for this parents who battle to get their kids to eat different foods is DON’T GIVE UP wonderful humans. Yes they will have days where they spit things out and throw it back at you even if they loved it the day before, but keep persevering with exposing your kids to new and different foods and ingredients as you would new parks, new people, new toys.
They learn each time, they become familiar and the process becomes easier for everyone. Even if it’s one piece of broccoli on their plate every day for months, do it because you never know when they’ll decide it’s not a scary/ yuk veggie anymore, pick it up and eat it. They wouldn’t do that though unless it’s there in the first place.

On Elke’s dinner plate below : baked pumpkin and cauliflower, steamed broccoli and carrots, poached salmon (FYI I got the spat out “wtf is this???” reaction last week to salmon but this week mixed with pumpkin she loved it 🤪) a taste tester of butter beans which j mashed before she ate otherwise a bit choke hazard, and sauerkraut as she keeps stealing mine.
