WHOLESOME WEEKENDERS IN THE BLUE MOUNTAINS
Escaped the city for the weekend and headed direction of the Blues. Found some divine spots to chillax, drink wine, pick fruit and get our walk on too!
MEGALONG CREEK ESTATE
Nestled in the Megalong Valley, this vineyard, Megalong Creek Estate, came as as complete surprise to us. A boutique selection of wines with the loveliest, family friendly cellar door, be sure to pop in your next visit to the mountains.
BLUE MOUNTAINS HIKING
We settled into our AirBNB for the evening after a meal out locally and were up and ready for our walk through the GOLDEN STAIRCASE TO RUINED CASTLE the following day. If you’ve not done any Blue Mountains walks yet, this one you can complete within about 4 hours or so and has insane views from the top of the Ruined Castle too.
FRUIT PICKING IN BILPIN
Travelling back to Sydney via Bilpin is probably the best way to do it because it means you can tour through the divine sounds of Bells Line of Road (insert bell birds singing – truly!) and swing by one of the Pick Your Own Orchards for some fresh fruit. This time of year both new season apples and pears were growing so we grabbed some, well maybe about 8kg, of both! Pinecrest Orchard are great for pick your own and if you’d like to discover a few more pick your own locations see post here.
