A LITTLE MORE ‘GIRL’ TO THE ‘BOSS’

This week on my insta-stories I started sharing “A-Dress-A-Day”. This is a little thing I am doing for me, which is for at least 7 days (hopefully beyond if I can!) to wear a dress.

Why?

Well if I’m to be honest with myself and with you, this year, with all it has brought (both fulfilment and stress ha ) has left me feeling like I’m not really in touch with my femininity anymore.

I’ve been so driven by work, making the new Brown Paper space function, creating beautiful projects, building great things with clients, and beyond that taking care of my little family. All these things I LOVE, but there’s always a goal, a “some-thing” that has to be done.

With that goal and project orientation I feel I have so much masculine energy flowing, perhaps not as much feminine energy. Both are important, but at the moment they don’t feel very balanced. And that imbalance is weevling its little way into how I feel, how I look at myself and my emotional wellbeing to tell the truth. So I thought I might try to tap into that balance a bit more, just with one small step for now, which is to try to wear more feminine pieces/dresses in my wardrobe.

It might sound silly to some, #firstworldissues but if we consider health to be holistic and your emotional health is drawing you back from being your best then I feel any small step is the right step to change direction, and this is one for me. I am a true believer that creating change and longevity in health is about small steps, just doing ‘good-enough’ rather than trying to overhaul everything all at once and recognising this for me was a time to walk my talk and do what I believe too.

It’s great to be a #girlboss (I think that’s what it’s termed these days!) but it’s time for a bit more balance of the ‘girl’ to the ‘boss’.
