Sydney weekenders – The Black Barn in Little Hartley
Just 90 minutes from Sydney is one of our favourite weekenders – The Black Barn. Having spied The Black Barn some years ago and making a mental reservation it was a true treat to finally land on this beautiful property.
The Black Barn is a newly built modern barn which overlooks the valley of Little Hartley. The distant views capture escarpments of the Blue Mountains and the Great Dividing Range. Whilst the mountains are at your fingertips for bush walks and valley wine tastings, The Black Barn is honestly one of the few locations where you’ll arrive and literally not want to step off the property.
The barn is suited to small groups and families and the permanent residents of the property, the Dorper sheep (and lambs depending on your timing!), love being hand-fed by the guests.
Tarona the owner and host of The Black Barn has thought of absolutely EVERYTHING to make guests stay the most comfortable, I simply cannot recommend it enough.
Settling right into weekend fare with a delicious dessert board!
Our little weekender traveller, enjoying time at the Black Barn.
Little Hartley is home to the beautiful Amber Mere Inn, which have a variety of delicious local produce and deli style foods – cheeses, jams, pickles, wines etc – and a truly scrumptious menu at their quaint restaurant.
The Black Barn boasted the most insane view across the mountains from the kitchen.
Around and about The Black Barn – the stunning rooms and interiors carefully considered to make you feel right at home.
Make a pit stop at The Hive via Bilpin en route to the Black Barn for a great coffee, chai, fresh sourdough and local eggs, honey and more.
