Weekend ideas for families around Sydney
We’re discovering (and rediscovering) some fun activities for all of us to enjoy as a family around and about Sydney at the moment so a brief list of recent ones below. They range from Penrith to Manly with a few in between!
HOLEY MOLEY GOLF – NEWTOWN AND DARLINGHURST
Perfect for a rainy day and super fun for adults and kids. Elke dominated the course naturally…
Find Holey Moley in a few locations HERE…
MANLY SURF N SLIDE, MANLY
I remember going here when I was growing up so we thought a return for a bit of a nostalgic slide was in order. The beauty of this one is proximity to Sydney city / suburbs and you can enjoy sunshine picnics just next to the slides accessing any of the great foodie spots in Manly too.
We enjoyed a lunch from Banana Blossom, but our other favourites around Manly are FIKA Swedish Kitchen and Hugos Manly.
Find more details and book your slide time with Many Surf n Slide HERE.
IFLY, PENRITH
Seriously epic fun and a great one for bday parties for older kids. Easy to access on freeways out of the city and if you’re up for more activities around there’s Water Golf (I think that’s what it’s called?!?!) via the Penrith Panthers Club. Find all the details and book here.
ENTERTAINMENT QUARTER, MARKETS AND PLAY
Can’t beat a visit to farmers markets as an easy way to get out of the house and enjoy different food and immerse in divine produce too. Something for everyone. We love EQ still because there’s always the beautiful big grassy area for kids to run amuck, a small playground for younger ages and then fun set ups like jumping castles or this flymotion for bigger kids too. There are vegan markets there once per month which we’re yet to attend but can’t wait to! On our way out we discovered a new and permanent set up of Hyper Karting – go carting – in the car park. It’s for ages 12 and up, looks super fun.
NEXT ON THE LIST…COOGEE BEACH CLUB
Just near to us is Coogee and all the great things it has to offer. We’ve done most but yet to take the family and catch up with friends at the revamped Coogee Bowlo which has become Coogee Beach Club. Kids can run around on the old bowling green and adults can have a couple of drinks and chill in the arvo sun! Find more details here.
